- Explanation and use of wine tools -

Wine tools have always been essential for the perfect optimization of a wine tasting, as it is.
But what are they? What is their usefulness? and How do they work?
This blog will explain all the necessary resources to have for an optimal knowledge and use of these tools.

1- The corkscrew

The corkscrew is probably the essential one if you want to taste wine.
This model is composed by 4 main parts:
    - 1st part: The handle
    - 2nd part: The spiral drill bit
    - 3rd part : The lick
    - 4th part : The lever arm

To use the corkscrew, first, you have to open the lick and cut the metal seal off the neck of the bottle. Then insert the metal spiral in a circular way. The third and last part, use the lever arm by pressing the neck to open the bottle.

2- The wine aerator

The wine aerator is an accessory which, as its name suggests, aerates the wine quickly and efficiently.
The purpose of this object is to aerate the wine while pouring it, allowing a good oxygenation of the latter. The oxygenation of the wine brings out all the aromas of the wine, leading to an optimal tasting.
To use it, nothing could be easier, just insert the aerator into the neck of the bottle.

3- The glass of wine

To taste a wine it is essential to serve it in an adapted wine glass, because yes, it exists different types of wine glasses. The main reason is the shape and the size of the wine glass.
Indeed, the shape of the glass influences several key factors in the wine's aromas.
To begin with, the amount of air present inside the glass balloon. The more contact there is between the liquid and the air inside the balloon, the more mature the wine becomes and releases its aromas.
Then the position of the head. Indeed, the wine glass with a wide opening forces us to lower our heads slightly forward, while the glasses with a narrower opening force us to bend our heads back. These different positions vary the arrival of the wine in our mouth, allowing us to measure the sugar level (on the tip of the tongue) and the degree of acidity (at the bottom of the tongue).

4- The anti-drip collar

This tool is not mandatory at a wine tasting, but it is very useful during dinners.
As its name suggests, its function is to prevent wine drops from flowing on your tablecloth or on the outside of the glass. Generally composed of an aluminum or steel ring with a velvet interior, the wine drops will be absorbed by the velvet, thus avoiding any wine spots.
